Its all about being friends.. we will miss you...

Its all about being friends.....

(Prasanta K Patra and us…)

Today (When Prasanta left IBM) is the day when one of our best friends is leaving away for a better cause and purpose. Today is the day from when we will just remember the moments we lived and pulses we created.

Today is the day when life takes a painful turn and we faces the much known truth that no is body is there forever in your life. Time and time again we have learnt that in the moments of life we create friends and we sang beautiful courses of life together, hoping that these days will never rust away. Tracing back, the days, I feel those were the best of my life. Beginning with days of school, we created many friends, followed the own style of schooling, classing and playing and we wished this time to continue forever. The dream came to end when we joined the College and our chanting day of school becomes our never lasting memories.

A phase of life school-life came to end and a new series of college masti began and many more amazing friends came to life.... 4 yr of masti full life began with lots of halla gulla , masti , zabardasti, bunking, backlog , joking, kicking and bashing. Friends at this stage of life teach a lot and make a big landmark in the one's life. The time of their separation at the end of college was most painful moments in life. They wished those moments to come back and to enjoy them again for the rest of life but everybody knows that we don’t have any time machine to go back and be with all of them. We separate carrying pain with new quest in life.

A new phase of life begins which is so called as professional life, the life of more fake living, bad politics, eating the credit of one for their own profit- more or less equivalent to predator....arrrrhhh.. I got deviated from the main topic.... a new carrier begins with obviously with zero balance both in the bank account and in your friends list.. A whole new fresh start... that how most of began our professional life...

Same was the situation of our friend prasanta k patra.

He joined IBM April 2006, 2 months prior to us. He had already struggled before joining to IBM. Finally he joined IBM, unlucky to him he didn't find too many with matching frequency. He and his friend Arnab banerjee were the two during his initial phase of training period in SAP. Some how they completed their training. Arnab banerjee and prasanta were the two as they understood each other, as nobody else were there with them. They both landed together in same project and continued their life. Initially prasanta was more frustated as there was no one to help him or guide, every body's expectations were very high, in spite of him being a fresher.... well any one will fell lost and de-motivated in such situation. He met people who will explain the business logic but not the technical funda(approach), guys who will advice you use F1 for more knowledge rather showing or explaining how things work, he meet fellows, who will explain the entire ramayan but not the Ram - in context of the question who was ram, on seeking help from senior guys- in response will gave a very quick response that, this is the easiest thing in this world and will be done in this and that way... this and that way.. not the exact way.. for one moment u will mesmerized that can this be solved…… or not, but after sometime you will land up at square one- form where it all started. For him this continued for some time when his friend arnab banerjee came to rescue and with a ray of hope that there is this guy chandu.. who helps a lot... and his friendship does changed prasanta life.. chandu was a genius (he is not working with IBM any more...) but yeah he helped everyone he could...by this time he worked on few objects and gained some knowledge of SAP-ABAP.

Now its our turn to enter the arena. I joined IBM with Arnab bhattacharyya (Bhataca) and arindam dutta(dada or ad4), Some how I and bhataca were together from the beginning, and we both landed up together in same project in which prasanta was already working.... Initially it appeared to me that he is very serious guy, but was quite hard to read the actual expression because of very constraining facial posture and I hardly saw any smiling or laughing or enjoying... Everyone was working very hard, it appeared that everyone is pushing to show something… I don't know what but yes everyone was trying to give their best..

I, bhataca and manish were sitting a little away from the main course team and so we created our own style of fun zone as we were not silent workers, as I used to talk a lot (still I talk a lot) and so we shared lots of college stories.. prasanta was friend of manish and that how we meet and new friendship started… with prasanta came partha ghosh a unique friend... With the emergence of prasanta and partha ghosh along with us i.e. i, bhataca and manish… when ever we were together we used to start our panchayaat and then stories from this college and that college would began with lots of jags and chutkulaas ..... and for at least one or two hours it would continue and seeing that many other fellow friends would too join us and the same workplace would get turned to a more enjoy full place to learn and live. When ever we had any technical trouble a complete R&D would be done, not just one guy everyone of us will try something form his point of view for a logic or solution or some pattern, we were not only helping but this way we actually built the team of our friends.... it was a whole new set of learning with them..

It continued like this till the end of the year 2006. Then the entire team moved to 2nd floor. I didn’t know everyone in the team but this gave platform for all of us to know each other…the so called FICO team. Since prasanta was stitting very close to our Track lead so he was became punctual and patterned in the office. He used to come to office early and leave late and will find most of time working. Thou I was sitting in the next cubical but we hard used to get time to talk either he was busy or I or if both are free, our track lead presence forced us to remain quite. Sooner or later it had to end and it happened I shifted a little away from the initial cubical for the new project and then we came back to same masti zone, the area get puffed with entertainment and masti... we i.e. prasanta bhataca and other came back in the same original form with manzoor da.

Working together gave us the big opportunity to know manzoor and bala, the two senior guys, the never giving up persons, keep trying till the end for a solution whenever or what ever be the situation at any time..
The season of gappe and bhaating began, the series of joking and poking started and slowly-slowly others kept on bricking the team entertainment. The situation was like that, any one can spot bhatting anytime, whether we were working or not, thou work was never neglected as our efficiency were doubled we learned more, as we used to do big search on even tiny topics. Every evening manzoor da and we used to discuss o
n some technical topic either via little programs or via the Google pages. It was a daily routine, the best part was who so ever learned something in his development used to share things, well that how I bhataca and prasanta did followed with everyone else as well.

Our friend ship was getting bonded more and more... then pankaj joined, you must have heard the saying "sone per shuhaga" ie better than best.... man he is a catalyst… he mixed so quickly that no one could even guess that we knew each other for past few weeks... the masti kept on running even better and better... The best of all was the diwali celebration, it all started suddenly and everyone came in with lightening responses.... we never knew from where idea started to come. Girls got engaged in rangoli and we managed shopping for lighting arrangements.... pankaj bala and I began with late shopping in kali ghat.. and soham and parhta did the early morning flower buying... and many more, every one was working whole heartily ....... it was the moment when everyone would have felt with the felling of- that’s the team I want be with, for the rest of my life… everyone was so happy even thou we were hanging with the flower tickets...:D, arranging the chunries.... or with powering of the electric candles.. We were enjoying the every moment of it…

Thou we won the consolation prize due to some bad politic and copy act.., but what ever was the result the effort we was best and max among any other team.... Well for us it was the best team effort I had ever seen in my life.. Those were the moments frozen in my mind for the rest of my life.

Things were going smooth but suddenly something happened and we realized that nothing fare is going on with us. Rating for pa pbc starting coming and our hard work dedication gave no result to us. All the pain giving team work was of no use, all the management for the team doesn't seem worth enough, and all the exhausting work for multiple projects simultaneously gained nothing more than bad critics for us. prasanta and bhataca was with max hit with this critics along with me. Actually there were more of us. well among us ie prasanta bhataca and I began to think of alternatives and we decided to bugle the 'Kranti...' and we became the kranti veers... we started many thing to read and learn and shared between each other and our fundas were refined by pankaj on any technical topics, I provided with many critical question, question about which none of aware off… and that basically patched many of the concepts. After the salary hike one more feature got added in the kranti - aka pankaj and our learning process got accelerated.

Every day we go for jalebi and long bhaat used to happen in the evening and many more discussion, thing which brought us closer... Things were changing very frequently in the team as well, but things which never changed were our everyday general bhaat we used to do every morning irrespective of work load. It used to become more spicy, if the story is all about the prasanta college.... and his friends... or about one of us and that one of us can be any one of us.

In all these one day one of the kranti veer decided to leave us, yes prasanta finally got placed in accenture pune. We were happy that finally he will get rid of this maha jaal… and will be happy....

Today i.e. 21st of Aug was his last working day and it was very hard to believe that he will be leaving us... I was thinking what will happen to our bhaat sessions, our jhalebi breaks , now who will tell us the jhool bhare college days and ghost story of college day.... and the never heard veg and non veg jokes... well its again the time to separate and began a new life and make new friends and archive us rather than deleting from the memory... well I am aware how other are going to feel... but yes I am going to miss him a lot....

To my friend prasanta.. ufff pkpatra.. dost.. mere good wihes tumhare saath hai, aur hope ki tum hume kabhi nahi bhoologe aur ye sochte hue ki duniya bauth choti hai... hum jald hi milege.... wish u very sucessfull new life... :) ..... :(

(Paramita Roy: The good morning mail girl…)

One of our another friend which we even miss most… is Paramita Roy... because without her mail there is no morning and u will not be able to enjoy the Monday and Friday, its her mail which we used to get every morning… and which kept us reminding that today is Monday or Friday-party time. The day when we don't receive her mail, every one around used to get confused that whether she is in the office or not, guess what, she used to be on actually leave … well the current situation is the same...as now we don't receive any good morning mails... and that means she is on leave....

We miss her most as now only offiical mail comes to mail boxe and few fun mails. Well she left IBM for the good and now is preparing for GATE, we all wish her a very best of luck...

(Pankaj… Fun cycle)

Another one left the kranti group… yes its Pankaj Kumar... This fellow has not left the IBM but surely us, as he has moved to Swiss for an onsite assignment. He used to guide us with his amazing funda’s… for any questions or queries he used to have an ultimate solution. His approach to life was unique and that’s what we liked most... He taught us many things and we will continue to learn from his views. All our jalebi breaks are over and we are more or less concerned to our workaholic office schedule.

Well my story in IBM began with Bhataca and after attaching so many beautiful features during spring, its time to fall down in winter... as only me and bhataca are left in the feather chain… looks like things are falling and falling… and will continue in the forth coming seasons…
